I'm Just at Context 20 in Ohio
Or...rumors of The Dragon's demise have been greatly exaggerated

You know there's something wrong with you when you can use that headline twice on the same blog site...but I know I've used it before. But I had a very dear friend of mine call me up and ask if I was okay because I hadn't updated the site (and Nigel hasn't updated Nigel Presents Sandy Lender over at http://sandylender.blogspot.com) since Sept. 17. I've been extremely busy with multiple deadlines and getting court documents together for my blessed divorce and staying out of the hospital with a kidney infection and whatnot...if it's not one thing it's another. SO! I apologize for the abject neglect.

I'm in Ohio this weekend to speak on a few panels at Context 20. I'll take pictures and bring back news and views for all ya'll.

In the meantime, please pick up a copy of the fantasy novel Choices Meant for Gods and read all about my heroine, Amanda Chariss, since I seem to be having difficulty giving you anything yummy to read here at the blog site...

Dragon Notes

Or...where's The Dragon hanging out these days?

Believe it or not, I haven't "traveled" since I returned from DragonCon. (Unless you consider the one-hour commute to work each day to be "travel.") So my only excuse for neglecting the blog here is complete and insane over-work. But we'll get things back on an even keel soon. I'm thinking right after Context 20 in Ohio at the end of the month... Is anybody going?

Check out the epic fantasy novel at the usual haunts (and note that you can pick up both my novel and Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews, which I own and started reading prior to DragonCon - it's started out in very promising fashion, too - at a discount at Amazon right now). http://www.amazon.com/Choices-Meant-Gods-Sandy-Lender/dp/1595071652/ref=cm_cd_t_h_dp_i/104-9089752-5140754 is the spot! Enjoy!

Check the New Review!
Or...The Dragon is excited...

I don't usually push the Barnes & Noble site, but, hey, there's a real good reason to check it out today: someone fabulous has posted a really great review of Choices Meant for Gods there! Go look at it for yourself!

And if you don't already own the epic fantasy novel, why, pick up a copy while you're there! It's at http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9781595071651&itm=1. Enjoy!

Congratulations to Sword Winner Duane Kessler
Or...The Dragon gave away another Choices Meant for Gods sword at DragonCon

The fabulous mage in the photo with Fantasy Author Sandy Lender is none other than the latest in the string of sword winners, Mister Duane Kessler. While attending DragonCon in Atlanta last weekend, Duane put his name in the drawing for a replica of Jorin Taiman's training sword, and, lucky him, he won! His friend snapped this shot before they trotted off to enjoy the rest of the convention with "live steel" in hand.

Congratulations to Duane and thank you to everyone who entered the contest. I swear I'm not going to spam you. If there's anyone else out there who'd like to win one of these fabulous swords, you just have to watch for a book signing or event where I'll be live and in person (right now I know I'm doing the Renaissance Art Festival in Naples Nov. 24-25) and come out to see me and the epic fantasy novel I'm so proud to be autographing at those events. And if you'd like to get your copy of Choices Meant for Gods beforehand, you can grab it at Amazon (where they've had to order more copies again...) or at my publisher's site at http://www.archebooks.com/BookIDX/Indexes/Fantasy/CMG/CMGDesc.htm.

Welcome to The Dragon
Or...if you've just come from DragonCon, good morning and welcome to The Dragon

It was a long and eventful Labor Day weekend in Atlanta and I plan to blog about it for a few days here, but I'll start by welcoming everyone who stopped by the Choices Meant for Gods table waaaaaaaaaay back in the warm little corner of the Hilton basement by the emergency exit doors. It was a joy to meet everyone. Tomorrow, I'll post about the Jorin Taiman sword contest. Today, I'm just thankful to get this simple image on here to announce that I'm back home and on my way to the office...

If you didn't pick up the book to carry in your luggage on a plane home from DragonCon, by all means, check it out online! There's information about it here, of course. The Word of the Day entries from May 21 to July 21 include the Old English and "other" influences for some of the fantasy words I created for the novel. There are a couple of deleted scenes you'll find in the search feature under creative key words like "scene." You can also read the first three chapters in a free sample at my publisher's site at www.archebooks.com under the fantasy authors, or you can go straight to www.amazon.com and read all the five-star reviews for Choices Meant for Gods. I completed an online book tour July 21 so there are a plethora of online sources with information about Fantasy Author Sandy Lender and the high fantasy novel Choices Meant for Gods out there...Google is your friend. But I invite you to stop back by this site frequently for updates on the novel, its sequel due out by the end of the year, writing tips and promotional ideas, and the ever-popular Word of the Day that I swear I'll start again...if for no other reason than to make Jeni happy...
